Can you tell us a little about yourself and your practice? #
I’m Ignacio Zabert, a pulmonary specialist based in northern Patagonia, Argentina. Together with my father, Prof. Gustavo Zabert—also a pulmonologist—we lead the Centro de Enfermedades del Tórax, a medical center dedicated exclusively to respiratory diseases. Our work is built on a strong team-based approach, which we believe is essential for delivering high-quality, comprehensive respiratory care. We manage the full spectrum of respiratory conditions, combining clinical expertise with a patient-centered philosophy.
How did you first discover ndd, and what drew you to the EasyOne Pro? #
We’ve been familiar with the ndd family of EasyOne devices for more than 15 years, beginning with the EasyOne spirometers used in the PLATINO COPD prevalence study. In 2014, we were introduced to the EasyOne Pro by the ndd team and quickly recognized its potential. Since then, the device has become an integral part of our practice, and we have performed more than 11,000 DLCO studies to date.
What do you like most about the EasyOne Pro? #
As a high-volume pulmonary function testing center, our priority has always been obtaining reliable results through tests that are easy to perform. The EasyOne Pro delivers exactly that—consistently accurate results with a testing process that is easy for both the patient and technician. Its accuracy and user-friendly design make it a valuable tool in our daily work, and we remain very satisfied with its performance.
How has the EasyOne Pro improved your workflow, patient care, and diagnostic confidence? #
When we acquired the EasyOne Pro, it was the first device of its kind in Argentina for clinical use. For our center, it represented a major leap forward. Having access to DLCO measurements allowed us to better understand complex respiratory cases, make more accurate diagnoses, and follow severe diseases more objectively. Most importantly, it has helped us tailor treatments more precisely. Overall, it has significantly enhanced the quality of care we provide.
Would you recommend ndd devices to other healthcare professionals? If yes, why? #
Yes, absolutely. We recommend both the ndd EasyOne spirometers and the ndd EasyOne Pro PFT device. These devices are intuitive, easy to use, quick to install, and require minimal maintenance—especially compared with other similar technologies colleagues have used. Despite this simplicity, they are extremely reliable, making them an excellent choice for any medical team building or strengthening a pulmonary function lab.
Do you have any other thoughts or feedback you’d like to share? #
I’d also like to highlight that at our Respiratory Medicine Center, we’ve been developing pulmonary function testing, particularly spirometry, in nearby centers through a telemetric setup. With ndd’s support, we’ve been able to run tests remotely, store them in a shared database, and generate real-time reports. This has greatly improved workflow efficiency and elevated the quality of care we’re able to provide across the region.
